    Description

    The Bermuda 50 Dollars is part of the family of banknotes issued by the Bermuda Monetary Authority in 2009 to commemorate the country’s 400th year of settlement by the British explorer Sir George Somers. This banknote comes in uncirculated condition. On the obverse are a long-tailed tropic bird, hibiscus flowers, and a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II. The reverse of the banknote bears the church of Saint Peter in the town of Saint George. Butterflies are also visible. The Bermuda 50 Dollars is 136 x 69 mm in size and in a vertical orientation. Furthermore, it has an Optiks security thread and a watermark which consists of a hibiscus flower, an electrotype sailboat, and Cornerstones. It also bears the signatures of BMA Chairman Alan Cossar and Director Gerald Simmons.
